Avid has successfully completed the generator control system upgrades on ex-LPA Watercraft vessels for Shelf Subsea (formerly known as Cal Dive International). With the vessels based in Exmouth, and servicing Barrow Island, this class approved upgrade was completed to stringent requirements. The upgraded functionality allows for better control and the ability to operate the vessel’s generator sets in parallel.
The SOW for the upgrade comprised:
- Design and engineering for a new control system which would be DNV-GL compliant
- Updating of existing vessel drawings to As built
- Design and construct system switchboard modules
- Supply of easyGen 3100 P1-5A generator controllers
- Manufacture and installation of Engine Governor Interfacing Harnesses
- Fitting New Generator Control Panels complete with easYgen 3100 P1-5A Control Modules to vessel
- Installation of electronic Leroy Somer L Series Engine Governor
- Connection of Generator Controller Interfacing Wiring
- Programming and setup of easYgen controllers
- Testing and Commissioning of the generator control system
