This client’s brief was for multiple modular switch-rooms for an overseas gold mine. AVID manufactured the switch rooms from modified sea containers with three 40′ containers joined to create a large Process Plant room.
An 18m long modular back-to-back Low Voltage Eaton IEC61439 (type tested) switchboard was manufactured by AVID and installed into one of the room modules, while a 5-tier HV Eaton board was installed into another module.

A separate 20′ container was fitted with another Low Voltage Motor control center switchboard for the Feed Plant.

The rooms were fitted with a UPS providing battery backup to critical systems as well as lighting and power circuits.
A VESDA system was also installed throughout.

Following integration and testing, the switch room was disassembled ready for transport by sea to West Africa.
